We, and our communities, are seeking a spiritual and traditional lens to frame these turbulent times, around the world, that we are living right now; a vocabulary to embrace an internal dialogue between our mind and heart, that will enable us to name for ourselves our thoughts and feelings. It is only then that we are able be in dialogue with others in a way that we can, hopefully, truly hear ourselves and each other. ‘Others’ in our own families and community, and ‘others’ in outside of our immediate world and comfort zone, embracing the totality of the multiple ‘communities’ rabbis are called to serve today.
This course is divided into 2 segments: chavruta and shiur. The fullest transformative experience for the group will be with everyone participating in both parts. With understanding the fullness of the life of a rabbi, of course it is possible to only participate in the shiur.
The chavruta learning of primary sources that have informed the specific Chassidic teaching that we will learn together, will be in individual ‘breakout rooms’.
We will reconvene for our weekly niggun and shiur on a Chassidic teaching on the parsha or the upcoming chag. Hence, every week our learning will consciously and subconsciously inform our personal spiritual growth for the week, and enhance our forthcoming shabbat teachings.
Times will be as follows:
Chavruta – primary sources for Chassidic source [Eastern 11:30 am–12:00 pm / Pacific 8:30–9:00 am / Central European 5:30-6:00 pm / 18:30-19:00 Israel]
Niggun and coming together [Eastern 12:00-12:15 pm / Pacific 9:00-9:15 am / Central European 6:00-6:15 pm / 19:00-19:15 Israel]
Shiur [Eastern 12:15-1:30 pm / Pacific 9:15-10:30 am / Central European 6:15-7:30 pm / 19:15-20:30 Israel]

"The sources helped me ground my work and work on my own spiritual learning and development – something I think this is very hard for rabbis to do." [Rabbi Nelly (Dvora Bracha) Altenburger, Adath Israel, Middletown, CT]
